Privacy Policy — HD Video Downloader & Saver

This Privacy Policy explains how HKinfoway (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile application HD Video Downloader & Saver (package com.hkinfoway.hd.video.downloader.saver, the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

In short: The App does not require an account and does not send your browsing history, bookmarks, or downloaded files to us. That data stays on your device. The only data processed off your device is what is needed to show ads and, where required, to obtain your consent — handled by Google.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

The App has no sign-up or login and does not ask you for your name, email, or other personal details. We do not collect information you provide directly, because the App does not request any.

2.2 Information stored locally on your device

To make the App work, the following is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us:

Browsing history and bookmarks you create in the in-app browser;
Your list of downloads and the media files you save;
App settings and preferences (for example, desktop-site mode).

Windows opened in Incognito mode are not saved to your browsing history.

2.3 Information collected automatically (advertising & diagnostics)

The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, which can include:

Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID);
Approximate location derived from IP address;
Device information (model, operating system, language, network) and app-usage/interaction data related to ads;
Diagnostics needed to deliver, cap, and measure advertising.

This processing is carried out by Google, not by us, in accordance with Google’s own privacy policy. See Advertising and Third-party services below.

3. Permissions the App uses

Permission	Why it is used
`INTERNET`	To load web pages in the in-app browser and to download the media you choose to save.
`READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` / `WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` (Android 12 / API 32 and below only)	To save downloaded videos to your device’s storage on older Android versions. On newer versions the App uses scoped storage and does not request these permissions.
`com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID`	Allows access to the Advertising ID so Google AdMob can serve ads. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device settings.

4. Advertising and consent

Ads in the App are provided by Google AdMob. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.

Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland), the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show a consent request before serving personalized ads. Your choice determines how ads are personalized.
You can opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device’s settings (Settings → Google → Ads) and reset your Advertising ID there.

5. How information is used

To provide core features: browsing, detecting media, and saving downloads to your device;
To remember your history, bookmarks, downloads, and settings on your device;
To display and measure advertising through Google AdMob;
To keep the App working reliably and to improve stability.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google AdMob & Google Play Services — policies.google.com/privacy
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) — consent management, covered by the Google policy above.

Media processing (such as combining video and audio into a single file) is performed on your device and is not uploaded to us or any third party.

7. Data sharing

We do not share the data stored on your device with anyone. Information collected for advertising is processed by Google and its ad partners as described in their policies. We may disclose information only if required to do so by law or valid legal process.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because history, bookmarks, downloads, and settings are stored locally, they remain on your device until you remove them. You can:

Clear browsing history, the download list, and cache from within the App’s Settings;
Delete individual downloads or saved files;
Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored app data.

9. Security

Your local data is protected by Android’s app sandbox. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.

10. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through advertising, please contact us and we will work with our ad partner to address it.

11. Content, copyright, and third-party platforms

The App is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or any other platform or trademark owner. You are solely responsible for how you use the App and for ensuring you have the right to download and save any content. Please respect the terms of service of the websites you visit and applicable copyright laws. Downloading from YouTube is not supported.

12. Your rights and choices

Manage or clear your local data from the App’s Settings at any time;
Control ad personalization and reset your Advertising ID in your device settings;
Depending on your location (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we do not hold your personal data on our servers, such requests generally relate to data processed by Google — please also consult Google’s policy. You may contact us for assistance.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
